Justify interactivity-report

Interactive elements:

When creating my website there will be a range of interactive content that will be included for customers to use like videos, maps and an image gallery. The videos will be included as they will give customers an insight into the the work that the client does. The videos will show the client working and will help customers to understand the work that he does. As well as help to promote his work and business at the same time. The interactive map will be included as it will help customers to find out where Bradshaw's Greenspaces is and means they can visit if they need a gardener and an interactive map will also help customers to find out whether he is local to where they live or not. An image gallery will be included as it will allow for customers to view some of the gardeners that the client has done and it will mean that they can view the types of gardens and sizes of the gardens that he does.

The gallery is one of the main interactive parts of the website. The reason for this is because it allows for the customers to click onto the website and view other customer gardens. This means that they can scroll through each image and look at the different gardens but it will also help customers to know the different sizes of gardens that the client does and how the work can change depending on what there is to do in each garden. The get in touch section on the contact information page allows for customers to send any questions they may have to the client which will then allow for him to reply with what would be best. This allows for communication between the client and his customers meaning that he can discuss the best prices or what he would need to do in the garden depending on what the customers need doing in their garden.

Images included:

The first images that will be included on the website will be images of customers gardens as it will let people view each garden. The images will be taken while the client is their and a DSLR camera will be used to take these photographs. The point of taking these images is so that people will be able to view what the garden looks like before the client arrives and then after he has been there. This will help to show customers the difference of the before and after and the work that the client does while at each customers house. These images will then be edited so that their file size is much smaller which will mean that they will load faster when clicking onto the website and then viewing each of the images.

Screenshots of editing images

Within these images there are two different editing tools being used for the same image. The first image shows a spot healing brush being used which allows you to make the picture look cleaner. For this specific image the spot healing brush needed to be used to make the jumper look cleaner and better so that when the image is uploaded onto the website the client will look smarter when customers look at the image of him. The other tool that was used which cut out the client from the background was the magnetic lasso tool. This was used by going around the outside of the image and following it until all of it has small boxes connected to lines around the entire image. When this is done you can separate the image from the background and then use another tool to tidy the edges of the image so it looks more professional. This tool is known as the healing brush tool. This will allow you to fix any mistakes or edges that look untidy on the image it will then smoothen the outline of the client out before being able to put onto a white background to look more professional when it is on the website. and so that customers can easily see the image of the client.

The interactive elements were included as it makes the website more engaging for customers. The reason for this is because it will give them more to look at or do when on the website meaning the may look at the website for longer and gain more interest within the clients business. The interactivity also means that people will have things to do while on the website, for example on the gallery page customers can click through the images and have a look at some of the gardens that the client has done which may also persuade them into wanting the client to do their garden. The videos on the website allow for people to view the client working in the garden which means they can see the type of work that he does and how can differ in each of the customers garden. The map will let customers find out where Bradshaw's Green-spaces is located and will show people if they are local to the client or not. This can be beneficial as if they are local to the client then they may visit him to ask if he can also do their garden.

Homepage

For the homepage a back and grey font was used for the Bradshaw's Green-spaces logo. The reason that this was used is because these two colours contrast from each other meaning that they'll be easier to read when people click onto the website. Large font also makes it easier for people read when they are on the website. The video on the homepage allows for more interactivity as people can watch it but also means that no information needs to be put not the homepage as customers can watch the video playing instead.

Overview of business

On the overview page the information is in large black font. The reason for this is because larger fonts will make it easier for everyone to read even if they may have a problem with their eye sight. The information is then put onto a green background so that it can stand out better when people are scrolling through the page, meaning that it will also be simpler to read if its on a contrasting background.

                                                                  Promotional video

The promotional video page will consist of no information as it will be a page for the promotional video. This will mean that people can click onto the page and then play the video and watch it before then navigating through the rest of the website.

                                                                           Maps
The map page will only have small paragraph that will also be in a large black font to make it easier to read. The map on the page will be used from Google maps on it as this makes it much easier for people to use and understand. Customers will use this page if they want to find out where the client is and talk to them or to see if they're local.
                                                                            Gallery
The Gallery page will have no text as this page is only used for the images of the customers gardens. This will make it much simpler for people to use as they can click onto the images. The images will also have a description in the air text if there are people with disabilities that struggle to view these images.

Contact information

Like the information the rest of the pages, this one will also use the same font so that it remains the same throughout the website. However on it will also be a part where people can get in touch with the client. This part will be in large green font so that it stands out more when on the website. The contact information like the phone number and email will be in a smaller font but still remain black to match the rest of the website.

Price list

The Price list page will have different sections that tell people the prices of what the client does. The information on it will be in black font and will then be on a green background. The font of the text will remain the same as the rest of the text on the website to keep the design as similar as possible.

The way that I will meet the users needs is making sure that it will be seasonings everyone  while making sure that the website has all the information that the user will need. This means that the website needs to explain what the business is about and what it means for the user while also showing them what the client does so that they have an understanding of what the website is for. To make sure it also meets the users needs it will need alternate ways for people to understand the information, this being if they have a disability. An example is putting text that explains what the image is in the air text section so that everyone can then access the website.
